Metamorphosis

2018 | 1 h 25 min

A poem for the planet, Nova Ami and Velcrow Ripper’s film Metamorphosis takes the pulse of our earth and bears witness to a moment of profound change: the loss of one world, and the birth of another. Metamorphosis captures the true scale of the global environmental crisis. Forest fires consume communities, species vanish, and entire ecosystems collapse. Economic growth, tied to increased speed of resource extraction, has created a machine with the capacity to destroy all life. But this crisis is also an opportunity for transformation. Through a tidal flow of stunning images, Metamorphosis carves a path from the present to the future, and offers a bold new vision for humanity and the world.

You Are What You Act

Director: Albert Nerenberg

Can you really fake it until you make it? You Are What You Act proposes a potential revolutionary new health trend by asking what influences us more: our minds or our bodies? What has a greater effect: thinking positive or acting positive? Could smiling make you happier? Could changing your posture make you more confident? Could pretending to be in love actually save your relationship? Could Hollywood superstars like Tom Cruise and Jennifer Lawrence actually be more likely to save someone’s life because the do it in their movies?…. Filmmaker Albert Nerenberg answers all of these questions and more by taking us on a journey through interpersonal communication. Leading psychologists in embodied cognition demonstrate fascinating psychological exercises with amazing results. You may be astonished to learn that these same psychological exercises are also used in theatre and performance classes! You Are What You Act is a joyful look at the ways we can train our minds and bodies to surpass the status quo.

Call Of The Forest

Call Of The Forest – The Forgotten Wisdom Of Trees’ is a documentary featuring scientist and acclaimed author Diana Beresford-Kroeger. as she investigates our profound biological and spiritual connection to forests. Her global journey explores the science, folklore, and restoration challenges of this essential eco-system. Along the way we meet some of the world’s foremost experts in reforestation. Dr. Akira Miyawaki, a worldwide specialist in the restoration of natural forest systems on degraded land, shows us how a native forest system can be planted even in the smallest street corner of Tokyo. The Call of the Forest film and movement is a call for massive, global reforestation to reverse climate change. If we could look back in time we would see forests blanketing the continents. But as human society has developed we have lost upwards of ninety five percent of the world’s forests and we continue to lose more than one hundred and forty square kilometres of forest per day. Only 5% of the world’s old growth native forests currently remain today.

Sea of Life

Inspired by Rob Stewart’s Revolution, young filmmaker Julia Barnes finds herself on an epic trip around the world to save the ecosystems we depend on for survival. She embarks on this journey to figure out how we’re going to save the most important ecosystem for our survival; the ocean. As acidity rises and fish populations decline, Sea of Life seeks to inspire change by exposing the truth, bringing audiences on an eye-opening adventure from the beautiful world of coral reefs into the heart of the environmental movement, meeting passionate scientists, activists, and explorers along the way who reveal an enormous opportunity in the face of this challenge – to rise up and become the heroes the world needs.
